A Dingle Road
Surprisingly, nearly all the roads I encountered in Ireland were paved. However, as can be seen in this shot of a road on the Dingle Peninsula, almost all Irish roads are extremely narrow and have nearly non-existent shoulders. It is not uncommon on some of the back country roads to have to pull to the side or back up to let an oncoming car pass.

A Window to the Past
The Wicklow Mountains are a beautiful area just south of Dublin in Ireland. Ruins such as these are a common site all throughout the country. These places always raise so many questions. Who lived here? What was their life like? What hardships did they suffer on this piece of land? What finally drove them from this place?

Abandoned
I found this abandoned home outside of the Connemara National Park in Ireland. Abandoned structures such as this are a common site as you travel throughout Ireland.

Dingle Harbor
Dingle is a quaint and picturesque town on the Dingle peninsula in southern Ireland. The economy here for the near 2,000 residents relies heavily on tourism, fishing, and agriculture. Dingle resides in one of the Gaeltacht, predominately Irish speaking, regions that are scattered throughout Ireland.

Land’s End
This shot was taken by climbing halfway down a sea cliff near the tip of the Dingle Peninsula. Within a half hour of this shot being taken a fairly heavy storm came through which forced me to start heading north off of the peninsula.

The Burren
The Burren is a place of beautiful desolation. The bare, cracked limestone landscape here stretches as far as the eye can see. Despite the barren nature of the area an abundant variety of plants and animals flourish in the cracks between the stones.

Where Land Meets Sea
A large portion of the Irish coastline is very rugged in nature. This particular area is on the west coast where the Atlantic Ocean meets the rocky limestone shore of the Burren near the town of Doolin in County Clare.
